John Henry Fischer, one of the best known men in Liberty township, passed away this afternoon at 12:30 o'clock, of heart trouble, after an illness of several months. Mr. Fischer was well known as a experienced auctioneer in addition to his farming duties.
He was born in Oldenburg, Franklin county, September 22, 1846, making him at the time of death sixty-three years and two days of age. He married Miss Mary Tappe also of Oldenburg, who survives his sad demise. He removed to Shelby county in 1871, and has since resided in Liberty township.
In addition to the widow, he is survived by five children; Mrs. Mary Krug, of Chattanooga, Ten,; Mrs. Josephine Zinser, of Liberty township; Miss Agness, and Frederick and John Fischer, who live at home.
Funeral services will be held at St. Vincent's church, Monday morning at nine o'clock, at which time Father Ketter will say solemn high mass. The interment will be in the St. Vincent cemetery, M. G. Tindall in charge. (Obit: The Shelbyville Democrat, Sep. 24, 1909)

John Herman Fischer, 81, farmer of five miles west of Ottawa, died at 6 a.m. today at home. He had been in failing health the past year, and suddenly became worse last night.
He was born December 13, 1861 at Oldenburg, Indiana. He was married to Anna Runnebohm October 8, 1889 at Shelbyville, Indiana. The family moved here from Haskell, Oklahoma in 1919.
Surviving relatives are the widow and seven children: Anthony Fischer, Spivey; Mrs. Joseph Lauer, Louis Fischer and Mrs. Deb Strafuss, Princeton; Bernard Fischer, Homewood; Mrs. Joseph Renyer, Berrytown; and Stephen Fischer, Pomona; 27 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and five brothers and sisters; John and Frank Fischer, Mrs. Anna Neese, Mrs. Frank Weintraut and Mrs. Joseph Weintraut all Shelbyville, Indiana.
The funeral is to be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, of which Mr. Fischer was a member. Father A. B. FORMER PRESCOTT MAN PASSED AWAY
J. J. Fischer, sixty-three years old, a resident of the Prescott community for many years,
died recently at his home in Hibbing, Minn., friends here were informed today in a letter from his brother, J. Herman Fischer, at Pomona, Kas. The announcement of his death was received with keenest regret by his many friends.
Mr. Fischer had resided in and near Prescott since the year 1871, leaving this community
about two years ago for Minnesota. During his long residence in Shelby county, he made
hundreds of friends and was particularly active in affairs of the Prescott neighborhood. (Death

Death Claims John Fischer

Retired Farmer Succumbs After Five-Year Illness

In Failing health for the past five years and in a serious condition for two weeks, John B. Fischer, 79, retired Shelby county farmer, died at his home in Hendricks township this morning.
A native of Liberty township, Mr. Fischer was born on March 20, 1873, the son of Bernard and Elizabeth (Derkison) Fischer. On October 30, 1900, he was married to Katherine Minister who survives with four children. Earl Fischer and Mrs. Eileen Merrick at home; Mrs. William Woods of Franklin and Mrs. Edward Braunagle of Blue Ridge. A daughter, Mrs. Loriena Thoman preceded him in death and three sons died in infancy.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Frank Weintraut of Waldron; Mrs. Mary Weintraut of Cleveland, O., and Mrs. Anna Niese of Indianapolis. There are 11 grandchildren.
Mr. Fischer was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and funeral services in charge of the Murphy Mortuary, will be held at the church Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. Rev. DEATH FOLLOWS LONG ILLNESS

Rites Monday Morning For Frank Henry Fischer

Frank Henry Fischer, 70, passed away at his home seven miles southeast of Shelbyville near Prescott Thursday afternoon after a long illness. He had been an invalid for twenty years.
The son of Bernard and Elizabeth Fischer, he was born in Shelby township April 19, 1876. His marriage to Elizabeth Schlaf took place forty-one years ago. Mrs. Fischer died on June 29, 1918. Mr. Fischer was also preceded in death by three children. He was a member of the St. Vincent Catholic Church.
Surviving are five children, Charles and Carl Fischer, of near Prescott, Frank Fischer, U.S. Army, who has just arrived in the states from the South Pacific, Mrs. Lillian (John) Pollman, of Liberty township, Robert, of Louisville; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Weintraut, of Liberty township, Mrs. Mary Weintraut, of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Anna Neice, of Plainfield; and a brother, John Fischer, of near Fairland.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the St. Vincent Catholic Church with the Rev. John Bankowski officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery in charge of Loren H. Murphy. Mrs. Josephine Elizabeth Zinser, 82, native of Liberty township and resident of Waldron R. R. 1, died at Major Hospital Saturday afternoon at 2:45. She had been ill for three years and her condition was critical for three weeks.
The daughter of Henry and Mary (Tebbe) Fischer, she was born September 23, 1874. On January 12, 1904, she was married to John Zinser who preceded in death. Her survivors are two sons, Frederick H. Zinser, Waldron R. R. 1, and John F. Zinser of Waldron; two brothers, John Fischer, Waldron R. R. 1, and Fred Fischer of Waldron, and two grandchildren, Paul Francis and Mary Jo Zinser.
Mrs. Zinser was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church and St. Anne's Alter Society. Her funeral will be held at the church Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. with Rev. A. H. Seger officiating. Fred Fischer, 77, widely known Shelby county farmer, died suddenly Saturday at 11:00 p.m. at his home near Waldron. Death was attributed by County Coroner Dr. James Tower to a coronary attack.
Born in Liberty township, January 12, 1882, Mr. Fischer was the son of Henry and Mary Katherine Fischer. He is survived by the widow, Marie Cecelia (Higgins) Fischer, to whom he was married April 24, 1912, and three children, Henry T. Fischer and Mrs. Rita Ann Thibo of Liberty township and Mrs. Rosemary Lindley of Frankfort. There are seven grandchildren and also surviving is a brother, John H. Fischer of Liberty township.
Mr. Fischer was a member of the St. Vincent Catholic Church and last rites will be held at the church Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. Rev. A. H. Mr. Fischer, ill several months, died Thursday at 6:45 a.m. in Rush County Memorial Hospital. He had been hospitalized one week. A retired farmer Mr. Fischer was a member of St. Vincent Church.
Born in Shelby County April 2, 1884, the son of Henry and Mary Catherine (Tibbe) Fischer, he married Pearl Braunagel Feb. 14, 1917. She died Oct. 19, 1968.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary Catherine) Mammoser, Chicago, Mrs. Bill (Berneice) McClintock, Anderson, and Mrs. Don (Lois) Durbin, Rushville; two sons, John H. Fischer Jr., R. R. 5, Shelbyville, and Raymond Fischer, R. R. 1, Waldron, and seven grandchildren. A daughter died in infancy. Mr. Fischer was the last surviving member of a family of five. Magdalena Elizabeth Fischer was born April 17, 1893, at Shelbyville, Ind., to John Herman Fischer and Anna Runnebohm Fischer, and died Feb. 9, 1971, at her home in Westphalia.

She was united in marriage to Joseph C. Lauer at Haskell, Okla., Nov. 25, 1915, and they made their home there until moving to Kansas in December, 1924. She lived in Westphalia since 1947 and in 1965, she and Mr. Lauer observed their Golden Wedding anniversary. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and an honorary member of St. Teresa Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband of the home; two daughters, Helena Renyer and Josephine Blaufuss, both of Westphalia; two sons, Joseph H. Lauer, Kansas City, Mo., and Francis B. Lauer, Paxico, two son-in-laws, Wilmer Renyer and Francis Blaufuss, both of Westphalis; two daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Lauer, Kansas City, Mo., and Muriel Lauer, Paxico; 27 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Joseph Renyer, Sabetha; one brother, Steve Fischer, Flagstaff, Ariz.; many other relatives and friends.

The Wake Service was held Thursday evening, Feb. 11, at 5 o'clock in St. Teresa Catholic Church, Westphalia. The Funeral Mass was at 10 o'clock Friday morning, Feb. 12, with Father Robert Pflumm officiating. Mass servers were grandsons, Robert and David Blaufuss and Paul Lauer.

The Adult Choir sang under the direction of Mrs. Vince Hoefler, accompanied by Mrs. May Agnes. Casket bearers were grandsons: Victor and Kenneth Renyer, James H. Lauer, Jr., George Lauer, Ronald and Marvin Lauer. Burial was in St. Theresa cemetery, Westphalia.

SAD CIRCUMSTANCES SURROND BOYS DEATH

Two weeks ago last Tuesday morning, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fischer, of Meker, Oklahoma, received the sad message that Mrs. Fischer's father, H. A. Runnebohm, of Prescott, this county, was seriously ill and could not live but a few hours. Hastily making the necessary arrangements preparatory to coming to the bedside of their stricken relative they were on their way to Shelby county within a few hours after they received the telegram. They were accompanied by two children, one of whom was an infant, and Clemmens, a boy, about five years of age. The cold icy fingers of Death soon relieved the sufferings of their stricken relative and Mr. and Mrs. Fischer had intended to leave for their western home in the next few days. Last Tuesday Clemmens showed symptoms of a slight illness, but it was though that it would not prove serious. A physician was summoned at once, but notwithstanding all the good that medical attention could do his efforts proved fruitless and the child gradually grew worse until the final summons came last night about nine-thirty. One sad feature in connection with the death of the lad is that he was conscious of his surroundings up to the time the final summons came.

Robert Stewart, of the undertaking firm of Stewart & Fix, was called last night and preparations for dressing the body were carried on in the same room where Mr. Runnebohm's body had lain a short time before. Another strange coincidence was the fact that the black crepe was suspended from the same nail that was used in Mr. Runnebohm's death. The sad circumstances surrounding the death of their child has made the parents' grief doubly great and called forth much sympathy from residents of the neighborhood.

The parents accompanied the body this morning where it was placed on the Big Four passenger train that leaves this city at 11:55. They were en route to their home, where the funeral services will be held Saturday. (Obit: Shelbyville Democrat, Feb 3, 1910 pg 1)

Mrs. Theresia Weintraut, 89, Waldron, died at 8 a. m today at the Waldron Health Care Center where she had been a patient 3 1/2 years. She had been in failing health several years.

Born July 3, 1891 in Oldenburg, a daughter of John and Bernadine (Fischer) Ferkinhoff, she was married Aug. 16, 1916 to Albert Weintraut, who survives at Waldron.

Argos Women Ends Life By Hanging; War Worries Blamed

Strangulation by hanging was the method Mrs. Bertha Elizabeth Cordes, age 52, chose to end her life at about 6:30 a. m. today. Mrs. Cordes is the mother of two sons in the armed forces and she had become worried over their welfare. It is thought Mrs. Cordes left the family residence near Argos about six o'clock, walked down a lane with a rope and chain until she reached an apple tree where she was found hanging by members of her family.
Roy Cordes, of Sheppard Field, Texas, is home on furlough and the other son in the service is Arthur Cordes, now stationed somewhere in the Pacific. She is also survived by her husband, Louis, and tow other children, Norman of South Bend, and Mrs. Anna Black, of South Bend. Other close relatives include her mother, Mrs. Anna Niese; a sister, Mrs. Emma Emrick; a brother, William Niese, all of Indianapolis; and a brother, Edgar Niese, of Cleveland, Ohio.
Mrs. Cordes was born July 27, 1892 in Shelby county, Indiana, and moved to the Cordes residence, four miles southeast of Argos, in 1938. She was married to Mr. Cordes February 21, 1910.

Mrs. Lorena Marie Thoman, wife of Henry Thoman, and son of the county's most widely known young women, died at four o'clock this morning at her home, one mile east of the St. Vincent church, in Liberty township, following a short illness from a complication of diseases. The announcement of her death this morning was the cause of deep and sincere mourning throughout the community.

Funeral services are to be conducted at nine o'clock Thursday morning from the St. Vincent church with the Rev. Pieree Dixon, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph cemetery here with Charles M. Ewing, funeral director, in charge.

Mrs. Thoman was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Fischer, of Sugar Creek township and was born in Shelby county, Dec. 7, 1902, being at the time of death, twenty-eight years, one month and twenty-six days old. On June 20, 1928, she was united in marriage to Henry Thoman and they were the parents of one son, Norbert Stephen, who, with the husband survives.

She also leaves her parents, three sisters, Freda, Mary and Eileen, and a brothers, Earl Fischer, all of Sugar Creek township.

Mrs. Thoman was a devoted member of the St. Vincent Catholic Church and had also been active in subordinate organizations of the congregation.

Earl Fisher Found Dead

Earl A. Fisher, 65, R. R. 1, Needham, was found dead at his home in Camp Joy around 4:30 p.m. Sunday by Deputy Sheriff Thomas Theobald and a neighbor, John Eickleberry.
Eickleberry called sheriff officers when he learned that Mr. Fisher had severely lacerated himself across the hand twice, apparently with a razor blade, earlier in the afternoon. The victim's sister, Mrs. William C. Woods, told officers she had been at the home about an hour earlier and that she had bandaged his hand where he had cut himself.
County Coroner Dr. Paul Inlow said Mr. Fisher apparently died due to severe bleeding and that death was self-inflicted. Mr. Fisher had been ill since sustaining a fractured hip Aug. 14 in a fall at the Greenwood Locker Plant, where he was employed.
Born in Shelby County July 7, 1905, he was the son of John B. and Katherine (Minster) Fisher. Surviving are three sister, Mrs. Ed (Mary) Braunagel of near Rays Crossing, Mrs. William C. (Frieda) Woods, Franklin, and Mrs. Charles W. (Eileen) Mann, Whiteland. A sister and three brothers preceded in death.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p. m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bernard Burgert officiating. The local Eagles Lodge, of which Mr. Fisher was a member, will conduct graveside rites at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Mrs. Frieda Ann Woods, 64 years old wife of William Woods, owner of Woods Buick-Pontiac in Franklin, passed away Tuesday morning at Johnson County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Woods resided on Franklin route one.
Services will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday from St. Rose of Lima Catholic church, where Mrs. Woods was a member. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery in Franklin and calling hours will begin at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday
Rev. Albert Ajamie will officiate at the services and a rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Woods was born Oct. 16, 1907, in Shelby county to John and Kathryn Minster Fischer. She attended Shelby and Johnson county schools and graduated from the former Clark high school in 1925.
Mrs. Woods was a member of the Alter Society at St. Rose, as well as Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority and Zeta Psi patroness club.
Besides the husband, also surviving are two sons, John Woods of Bossier City, La., and Jim Woods of Franklin. In addition, two sisters, Mary Ann Braunagel of Shelbyville, Eileen Mann of Whiteland, and seven grandchildren survive. (Obit: The Daily Journal, March 14, 1972)

Carl Joseph Fisher, son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Fisher, died at their home in Shelby township at five-thirty o'clock this morning, of pneumonia, aged eight months and five days. The child had been suffering for four weeks.. The family will have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of the babe. It leaves two sisters, Lorena and Freda, and a brother, Earl. One brother, Bernard, preceded it to the heavenly home in 1910, and its grandfather, Joseph Anthony Minster, passed away the thirteenth of this month. It is survived by two grandmothers, Mrs. Mary Minster and Mrs. Elizabeth Fisher.

Mary A. Braunagel, 89, of Indianapolis, died Saturday, April 13, 2002, at Wildwood Health Care in Indianapolis.
Born March 16, 1913, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of John B. and Katherine (Minster) Fischer. She married Edward J. Braunagel on Sept. 15, 1936. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1987.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Edward Braunagel of Indianapolis and Francis Braunagel of Fairland; six daughters, Ann Marie Gutierrez of Indianapolis, Mrs. Jerry (Helen) Lux of Shelbyville, Betty Kay O'Brien of Pique, Ohio, Rita Whalley of Indianapolis, Mrs. Harold (Alice) Smith of Westport and Mrs. Patrick (Dianne) Burgoyne of Denver, Colo; 29 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. George (Rosa Mary) DuCharm on April 11, four brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Braunagel was a resident of Shelby County most of her life.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a member of the alter society, St. Joseph's Senior Social Club, Marion Township Home Demonstration Club and Flower Lovers Garden Club.
Funeral services were at 9:30 a.m. this morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., with the Father Peter Gallagher officiating.
Burial was in St. Vincent Cemetery in Shelby County.
Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home, 232 W. Broadway St., handled the arrangements.

John Ralph, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Fischer, died at 8:55 o'clock Monday night at their home in Shelby township. The child was eleven months and twenty-seven days old, having been born August 11, 1915. He was always frail, but the fatal illness was of only ten days duration. Death was caused by stomach and bowel trouble. Surviving beside the parents are a brother and three sisters, Earl, Lorrena, Freda and Mary. The babe leaves, also, its grandmothers, Mrs. Mary Minster, of this city, and Mrs. Elizabeth Fischer, of Prescott. This is the third time that Mr. and Mrs. Fischer have been called upon to give up a little one, and in their hour of sorrow they will have the sincere sympathy of the entire community. The funeral will take place at the St. Joseph Catholic church tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock, Rev. Fr. Kanlin officiating, and the interment will be made in the St. Joseph cemetery, Marshall G. helby County native Eileen Elizabeth Fischer Mann, 75, Whiteland, died today at the Americana Nursing Home, Indianapolis.
Born Aug. 17, 1918, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of John B. and Katherine (Minister) Fischer. On Feb. 20, 1965, she married Charles W. Mann in Shelby County. He survives in Whiteland.
A 1936 graduate of Waldron High School, Mrs. Mann was a supply accountant to the Indiana National Guard for 28 years and retired from Stout Field in 1981. She received the Meritorious Service medal for Outstanding Civil Service to the state of Indiana.
She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Franklin, the altar society of the church and the New Whiteland Chapter of Kappa Kappa Sigma.
Other survivors are a son, John N. Merrick, Las Vegas; a stepson, James Mann, Avon; stepdaughters Sue Carol Walker, Anderson, Janet Marie Gray, Boggstown, Ruth Ann Henderson and Shirley Jean Hash, both of Franklin; a sister, Mary Braunagel, Shelbyville; five grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and several great-step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Dan Mahan officiating. Burial will be Nineveh Cemetery. Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, with the Rev. William Ernst officiating. Friends may call after 3 pm today at Carmony Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 8 pm. A lifelong Shelby County resident, farmer and seedman, Mr Fischer in 1938 founded the Fischer Seed Co. and was a pioneer in the hybrid see field. He was named World Corn King, the only person to capture the title six times, after which he judged many grain shows throughout the country. Mr. Fischer was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church, Indiana Crop Improvement Association and Varmints Club and was a former membrer of the Shelby County Merit Board. Born in Shelby County on Sept. 24, 1907, Mr. Fischer was a son of Frank H. and Elizabeth (Schaf) Fischer. On Sept. 19, 1933, he married Dorothy M. Roell, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons and one daughter, Thomas E. Fischer, Mark C. Fischer, both of R.R.#6, Shelbyville; Mrs. Elizabeth "Libby" Hudson, R.R.#5 Shelbyville; Leonard "Nick" Fischer , Greenfield; and James E. Fischer, R.R. #1, Waldron.

Frank V. Fischer, 64, R.R. 6, Greensburg, retired Prudential Insurance Co. Salesman, died Wednesday in Community Hospital at Fort Myers, Fla. He had been ill two and one-half weeks.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Fischer had been employed with Prudential for 33 years before retiring five years ago. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church at Enochsburg.
Born in Shelby County Feb. 14, 1911, Mr. Fischer was the son of Frank H. and Elizabeth (Schoaf) Fischer. He married Elsie Davis in Indianapolis in1936 and she died Dec. 23, 1966. He married Kathryn (Heidlage) Munchel on Jan. 19, 1968, and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. J. P. (Joan) Morgan, of Greensburg Mrs. Gordon (Joyce) Pope of Greenfield and Mrs. Byron (Carol) Tetrick of Indianapolis; five stepchildren; 10 grandchildren, two brothers, Charles Fischer, R.R. 6, Shelbyville, and Carl Fischer, Shelbyville; and one sister, Mrs. John (Lillian) Pollman, R.R. 6, Shelbyville.
Two brothers precede in death.
Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greensburg, with the Revs. Aldric Heidlage, Benno Heidlage and Ambrose Schneider officiating. Lillian B. Pollman, 93, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Waldron Health & Rehab Center in Waldron.

Born Feb. 16, 1916, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Frank H. and Elizabeth (Schaf) Fischer. She married John William Pollman on Oct. 24, 1945, and he preceded her in death on June 19, 1993.

Survivors include his children, John F. Pollman and Paul V. (wife, Barbara) Pollman, both of Shelbyville, Mark W. (wife, Sue) Pollman of Henderson, Nev., Joseph S. (wife, Mary) Pollman of Brentwood, Tenn., Mary Ann (husband, Frank) Clifford of Wichita, Kan., and William H. Pollman of Noblesville; and four grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Elizabeth and Catherine; and four brothers.

Mrs. Pollman was a homemaker and lifelong Shelby County resident.

She was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and St. Anne's Altar Society.

Mrs. Pollman collected stamps for 30 years and enjoyed sewing.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the rosary recited at 7:30 p.m., at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 4218 E. Michigan Road, with the Rev. Paul Landwerlen officiating.

Burial will be in St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery in Shelby County.

Mrs. Alma Wisker, 44, wife of Arthur Wisker, who resided five miles from Shelbyville, in Shelby township, died at 11:15 a.m. today at the W. S. Major Hospital. She had been a patient there since Tuesday undergoing treatment for heart trouble.
Mrs. Wisker was born in Shelby county, August 4, 1904, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Weintraut, of Liberty township, who are among the survivors. She became the wife of Arthur Wisker on Oct. 23, 1928.

Services for Ira J. Weintraut, 77, 303 Dagley Court, former Waldron resident, who died at 2:55 p.m. Thursday at W. S. Major Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent Catholic Church.

Complication Cause Death of Aldrich Weintraut, 48

Aldrich Weintraut, 48 year old Decatur county farmer and Shelby county native, died this morning at 7:45 o'clock. He had been ill since last December and his condition had been serious for one week.
The son of Frank and Crecentia (Fisher) Weintraut, he was born in Shelby County on October 18, 1910.
On April 3, 1934, he was married to Philomena Leising who survives with the parents and five children, Thomas, David, Daniel, Stephen and Rita Claire Weintraut all at home. Also surviving are one brother and four sisters, Ira Weintraut and Mrs. Regina Beyer of Waldron, Mrs. Cecelia Belter of Greensburg, Mrs. Florence Powell of Fairland and Mrs. Bernice Fisher of near Waldron.
Mr. Weintraut was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church.

Funeral services have been arranged for Aldrich Weintraut, 48, Shelby county native who died Tuesday morning after a five month illness.
The rites will be held at the St. Vincent Church Friday with a Solemn High Mass at 9:00 a. m. Rev. M. A. Topmiller will be the celebrant and will be assisted by Rev. Maurice DeJean of Cannelton, as deacon, and Rev. Anthony Seger, as sub-deacon. Burial, in charge of the Carmony Funeral Home of St. Paul, will be in the church cemetery.

Henry Tilson Fischer, 90, of Waldron passed away Monday, November 5, 2007 at Major Hospital.

Born December 31, 1916, in Shelby County, he was the son of Frederick and Marie (Higgins) Fischer. He married Berniece E. Weintraut on May 3, 1947, and she preceded him in death on September 8, 1977.

Survivors include his daughters, Alice K. Brandt of Shelbyville an Doris A. (husband, Ron) Everson of Winona Lake; son, William F. (wife, Connie) Fischer of Waldron; sister, Rita A. Boring of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Anthony Scott Brandt and Eric Vaughn Brandt, both of Shelbyville, Heather M. Everson-Tuttle and Andrea N. Fischer Strehle, both of Indianapolis, and Ryan M. Fischer of Waldron; and great-granddaughter, Olivia K. Tuttle of Indianapolis.

He also was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rosemary Lindley.

Mr. Fischer had been a farmer in the Waldron area, retiring in 1994.

He graduated from Waldron High School in 1934 and attended Purdue University for two years, studying agriculture.

Mr. Fischer was a member of Knights of Columbus, Eagles Aerie Lodge No. 766 and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
Mr. Fischer was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Little Girl Passed Away at Home Near Waldron

Mildred Jane Fischer, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Fischer, died at home, one and a half miles northwest of Waldron, at three o'clock Friday afternoon. The death was caused by whooping cough and influenza from which she had been ill two weeks.
Funeral services will be conducted at the St. Vincent Catholic church at two o'clock Sunday afternoon, with the Rev. Pierce Dixon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, in charge of Charles M. Ewing, undertaker.
The child was only five months and twenty-seven days old. Surviving with the parents are two sisters, Mary Catherine, age 12 and Bernice, age 10, and one brother, John H., Jr., age 7, and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Brown, of Meltzerville. (Obit: Shelby Democrat, March 14, 1931)

Lois F. Durbin, 76, of Indianapolis, died Saturday, May 15, 2010.

Born June 5, 1933, in Waldron, she was the daughter of John H. Sr. and Pearl E. (Braunagel) Fischer. She was married to Donald L. Durbin for 43 years, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Maureen K. (husband, Randy) Strothmann, Stephen D. (wife, Jolita) Durbin and Gregory L. (wife, Stacy) Durbin; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Fischer; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Laura, Briana, Erika, Donna, Leo and Michael; and one great-grandchild.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary C. Mammoser, Bernice E. McClintock and infant Mildred Jane; and brothers, John H. Fischer Jr. and Raymond E. Fischer.

Mrs. Durbin had been a lab technician at Rush Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, where she was in the choir and eucharistic minister for the church and Community Hospital North. She spent winters in Naples, Fla., where she attended St. Peters Church and participated in the choir and as eucharistic minister.

Mrs. Durbin enjoyed bridge, golf and tennis.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 East 71st Street.

Raymond Edward Fischer, 52, R. R. 1, Waldron, died in a farm accident Tuesday.
Born in Liberty Township in Shelby County on Aug. 15, 1938, he was the son of John and Pearl (Braunagel) Fischer.
A farmer all of his life, Mr. Fischer and Jo Ann (Kramer) Fischer were married on Nov. 20, 1971.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Waldron High School Athletic Booster Club and the Greensburg Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife; three children, all at home, Amy Fischer, Rebecca Fischer and Jonathan Fischer; a brother, John Fischer, Shelbyville; sisters, Mrs. Donald (Lois) Durbin, Indianapolis, Mrs. Mary Mammoser, Indianapolis, and Mrs. William (Berneice) McClintock, Anderson.
A sister preceded Mr. Fischer in death.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. John Maung officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery.
